OCCF: Teacher Mini-Grants Program

The OCCF Teacher Mini-Grants Program, established in 1997, offers grants ranging from $50 to $300 for Spencer-Owen School Corporation teachers to enhance classroom learning. Grants can fund materials, assemblies, and collaborative projects, and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Each teacher can apply for one grant annually, with the option to team up with colleagues for larger projects. This initiative, created by educators for educators, aims to enrich student experiences.

Established in 1997 by local educators to provide teacher mini grants of $50 - $300 each to enhance the classroom learning of SOCS students. All Spencer-Owen School Corporation teachers are eligible to receive one teacher mini-grant per calendar year.
Grants are given on a first-come-first-served basis. Teachers can also combine grants with other teachers to get one big project complete. These grants are through the Owen County Education Fund, created and funded by teachers for teachers.
Teacher Mini-Grants May Fund:
Materials and/or curricula directly related to a classroom projectAssemblies, speakers, & curriculum-related student field tripsNew or expanded projects that create memorable learning experiencesPrograms in any subject area that directly support classroom learning objectivesProjects that include a collaborative effort between other classrooms

Eligibility

Who Can Apply: All credentialed educators currently teaching in the Spencer-Owen School SystemLimit of one grant per teacher per calendar yearCan be combined with other teachers to increase awards

Ineligibility

Teacher Mini-Grants May NOT Fund: Non-academic costs, such as facility improvements, building, & maintenance expensesPrizes, incentives, or travel Reimbursements for purchases made prior to the grant award
