O'Neill Brothers Grants

The O'Neill Brothers Grants support 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations in Northeast Ohio, providing approximately $300,000 in grants annually. With a focus on Catholic, educational, human service, cultural, and conservation initiatives, the foundation prioritizes requests for unrestricted operating support from financially stable entities. Grant amounts typically range from $5,000 to $10,000. The review process can take up to six months, but emergency funding requests may be considered at the discretion of the Trustees.

The Foundation's Board of Trustees meets semi-annually to consider grant requests. Therefore, the review process can take up to six months. However, the Foundation is able to consider requests for immediate/emergency funds, based on the discretion of the Foundation's Trustees. We fund approximately $300,000 in grants each year. The average grant is between $5,000 and $10,000.
Types of Support Granted
We will provide unrestricted general operating support requests from established organizations which are financially stable and have strong leadership. We provide support for specific programs that are effective, innovative and do not duplicate other programs or services. We also will consider a small number of requests for capital support from organizations that meet all other funding criteria.

Eligibility

The organizations we support must have tax-exempt status under IRS section 501(c)(3).Our foundation concentrates almost exclusively on organizations in Northeast Ohio.

Ineligibility

We do not fund individuals or for-profit organizations.We don't support community funds or other grant making organizations.Limited exceptions may be made based on events and specific needs
