NOTE: The grant winners will be contacted in mid-October and encouraged to attend and receive their award at the NYSAR3 Annual Conference & Trade Show at the Otesaga Resort Hotel in Cooperstown, NY November 12-14th, 2025. Grantee(s) who are not able to attend in person will be asked to submit a short video accepting the award. About Us NYSAR3 is about you, the people of New York State interested in learning about, supporting and promoting recycling in New York State. NYSAR3 Mission: To provide statewide leadership on waste reduction, reuse and recycling issues and practices to improve the environment. Our Vision: To be an advisory organization for legislative and regulatory matters in reduction, reuse and recycling. To promote the recycling and reuse industry to an economically sustainable level. To be the essential information resource for reduction, reuse and recycling. To promote management practices that integrate reduction, reuse and recycling. To be the education and training resource for all aspects of reduction, reuse and recycling. Community Reuse Grant Each year, NYSAR3’s Community Reuse Grants, in partnership with the Center for Sustainable Materials Management (CSMM), are offered to support community-based groups, municipalities, businesses, and non-profit organizations in New York State implement reuse initiatives in their communities. This year, a total of $15,000 will be awarded. Each awardee will receive up to $5,000 to fund their project, with an award minimum of $1,000. Winner(s) will also receive a complimentary one-year NYSAR3 membership.

Eligibility

Applicants can be community-based groups, businesses, partnerships, or non-profit organizations.This grant is meant for reuse initiatives, projects that focus on recycling initiatives will not be considered. Reuse is any activity that lengthens the life of an item, either for its original purpose or for a new purpose. Recycling is the reprocessing of an item into a new raw material.Composting and other organics-related projects will not be considered for this particular grant.All questions must be answered for your submission to be considered.A budget must be included in the submission packet for the application to be considered.The grant winner(s) will be contacted in mid-October and encouraged to attend and receive their award at the NYSAR3 Annual Conference & Trade Show at the Otesaga Resort Hotel in Cooperstown, NY. Ineligibility

As NYSAR3 already provides College and Green Schools grants, K-12 schools and colleges are not eligible for this grant.
