NOTE: Certain funds administered by The Foundation are specifically restricted to youth activities. In order to assure that all applications seeking funding for youth activities are considered together, the Foundation asks that applications for the funding of youth activities for a particular calendar year be submitted no later than January 1 of such year. Mission The mission of The North East Community Foundation is to assist a diverse group of donors in improving the quality of life in and around North East, Pennsylvania. Grants The Foundation provides funding to charitable organizations for projects which benefit the North East community. We prefer funding requests for specific, tangible items or projects in which the funds provided by the Foundation will have a substantive impact. Past Projects The North East Community Foundation was honored to share nearly $172,000 with 77 non-profits and individuals for the following: Education — supporting libraries and schools, providing college scholarships and summer experiences in the arts and natureBasic health & safety needs — supporting firefighters and first responders, nursing and hospice care, food, clothing and other essentialsEnriching our community — through organizations such as North East in Bloom, Downtown North East, North East Historical Society and the Lake Shore Railway Historical SocietyEligibility
