Overview: The Nicsa/William T. Blackwell Scholarship Fund was established as a tribute to former Nicsa President Bill Blackwell's commitment to education. Since its inception, the fund has made over $850,000 in awards to students with financial need.

Geographic Scope: United States (children of Nicsa member company employees)

Focus Areas:

Education and scholarship support for students demonstrating financial need

Support for children of asset and wealth management industry employees

Eligibility:

Children of employees from Nicsa member companies in the global asset and wealth management industry

Students demonstrating excellence in leadership, community service, and academic merit

All undergraduate students regardless of major are eligible

Award Details:

Amount: Up to four years of renewable scholarship support

Additional Benefits:

- Mentor assignment from a Nicsa member company
- Access to career networking opportunities
- Access to internship opportunities

Renewability: Awards are renewable for up to 4 years per student

2023 marked the 25th year

Over $850,000 in total awards distributed since inception

Funding: The Blackwell Scholarship Fund is endowed through donations by individuals and Nicsa member companies. Proceeds from the annual Blackwell Scholarship Charity Golf Tournament (held during Nicsa's Strategic Leadership Forum) support the fund.

Administration: The Blackwell Scholarship is administered by The Philanthropic Initiative, in conjunction with The Boston Foundation.
