Nick Van Pernis Scholarship Fund Grant

The Nick Van Pernis Scholarship Fund, established in memory of Nick Van Pernis, supports students from Hawaii's west side pursuing degrees in Marine Science, Biotechnology, Health Sciences, or Early Childhood Education. Eligible applicants must demonstrate financial need, maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0, and engage in community service. Preference is given to prior recipients who continue to meet requirements. This fund aims to empower students to positively impact the lives of Hawaii residents through their chosen careers.

NOTE: The Application deadline is represented by the Pre proposal deadline. The Letters of Recommendation deadline is represented by the Full Proposal deadline.
The scholarship fund was created by the family of Nick Van Pernis to honor his memory. The scholarship is for students from the west side of the island of Hawaii studying Marine Science, Biotechnology, Health Sciences or Early Childhood Education.

Eligibility

Demonstrate financial need
Be in good academic standing or by maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0Resident of the State of Hawaii
Graduate of a public or private high school in the districts of North Kona, South Kona, North Kohala, South Kohala, or Kau
Major in one of the following fields: Marine Sciences, Biotechnology, Health Sciences or Early Childhood Education
Participation in community service
Include in your personal statement a description of how your career may benefit the lives of Hawaii residents upon completing your education.
