NHEC Foundation Scholarships

Funder: New Hampshire Electric Co-op Foundation

Award Amount: Six $1,500 scholarships annually (one reserved for vocational/technical students)

Geographic Scope: New Hampshire Electric Co-op service territory

Eligibility:

  • Must be a NHEC member or legal dependent of a NHEC member

  • Must be at least a high school senior at time of application

  • Open to college-bound high school seniors, students returning to college, and non-traditional students

  • One scholarship reserved for students entering vocational or technical institutions
  • Selection Criteria:

  • Work experience and volunteerism

  • Leadership contributions to community

  • Educational/career objectives

  • Overall scholastic achievement

  • Personal interview with Scholarship Awards Committee
  • Background: The NHEC Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable fund that has contributed over $3 million to charitable organizations within NHEC service territory since 2006. The Foundation is funded by NHEC members who participate in the Round Up Program, where monthly electric bills are rounded up to the next dollar.
