Background: Since 2006, the NHEC Foundation has awarded more than $3 million to charities and non-profit organizations. The Foundation is funded by NHEC members who participate in the Round Up Program, where monthly electric bills are rounded up to the next dollar. Over 40,000 NHEC members help fund the Foundation; the average contribution is about $6 per year per person.
