Nancy Peace Action Against Prejudice Award

Purpose: The YWCA Greater Newburyport awards this recognition to community members who have made valuable contributions towards eliminating racism, fighting prejudice, and celebrating diversity through their professional or volunteer lives.

Background: Established in 1998 by the YWCA Greater Newburyport.

Geographic Scope: Open to adults and youth who live or work in the YWCA Greater Newburyport service area:

  • Massachusetts: Newburyport, Newbury, West Newbury, Amesbury, Merrimac, Salisbury, Georgetown, Rowley, and Ipswich

  • New Hampshire: Seabrook, Hampton, Hampton Falls, and Kensington
  • Eligibility:

  • Any adult or youth in the service area

  • Demonstrated commitment to eliminating racism and fighting prejudice

  • Evidence of celebrating diversity in professional or volunteer work
  • Award Presentation: Presented annually at the YWCA's Martin Luther King, Jr. Event in January.
