About Us The North American Conference on British Studies (NACBS) is a scholarly society dedicated to all aspects of the study of British history, literature, society and culture. The NACBS sponsors a scholarly journal, the Journal of British Studies, online publications, an annual conference, as well as several academic prizes, graduate fellowships, and undergraduate essay contests. Eligibility

Essays must have been written while the author was a degree-seeking undergraduate at a U.S. or Canadian college or university You must be a member of this organization to apply for this award - become a member. Nominating faculty must be current members of the NACBS. Submissions must be accompanied by a nominating letter from the instructor who taught the course or supervised the independent project for which the essay was written. Nominators may submit one paper per course/seminar, and as many of their strongest independent projects as they feel are deserving of the award.
