Muscogee (Creek) Nation Scholarship Foundation: Walter Dzurus III First Generation Scholarship Grant

The Muscogee (Creek) Nation Scholarship Foundation offers the Walter Dzurus III First Generation Scholarship to support 1st generation students pursuing higher education. This $500 scholarship is designed for enrolled citizens of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation attending accredited institutions, including technical and vocational schools. It encourages self-sufficiency and community participation while honoring the memory of Mr. Walter Dzurus, as established by his mother, Mildred S. Dzurus.

The central purpose and role of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Scholarship Foundation Program established by the Muscogee (Creek) National Council is to promote self-sufficiency, proactive community participation, self-reliance, self-determination, tribal sovereignty, and a sustainable future for Muscogee (Creek) Nation citizens through traditional gift-giving and support of academic scholarship, community initiatives, and research that benefit the growth and prosperity of Muscogee (Creek) Nation communities. The Muscogee (Creek) Nation Scholarship Foundation Program is a Muscogee (Creek) Nation tribal government non-profit program qualified under Section 7871(a) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. All contributions to the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Scholarship Foundation Program are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Description
The Walter Dzurus III Scholarship is in honor of Mr. Walter Dzurus. Ms. Mildred S. Dzurus established the Scholarship in honor of her late son. The Scholarship is awarded for coursework from an accredited institution of higher education, technical school, or vocational trade school.
Purpose
The purpose of this scholarship is to assist 1st generation students in their pursuit of post-secondary education.

Eligibility

Must be an enrolled citizen of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation.
Must be a 1st generation student, attending an institution of higher education, technical school, or vocational trade school.
Must agree to authorize the Scholarship Foundation Program to publicize the scholarship award if selected.Students may submit one application per semester.Required Documents -In order to be considered for a scholarship please submit the following:Completed Scholarship Application Form

College admissions acceptance letter.
