Overview

Mission The central purpose and role of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Scholarship Foundation Program established by the Muscogee (Creek) National Council is to promote self-sufficiency, proactive community participation, self-reliance, self-determination, tribal sovereignty, and a sustainable future for Muscogee (Creek) Nation citizens through traditional gift-giving and support of academic scholarship, community initiatives, and research that benefit the growth and prosperity of Muscogee (Creek) Nation communities. The Muscogee (Creek) Nation Scholarship Foundation Program is a Muscogee (Creek) Nation tribal government non-profit program qualified under Section 7871(a) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. This status is only afforded to federally recognized tribes. All contributions to the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Scholarship Foundation Program are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Mvskoke Media Scholarship Description The Mvskoke Media Scholarship is an incentive awarded for successful completion of an internship program with Mvskoke Media. The internship program is intended to cultivate the talent of promising Muscogee (Creek) students who are on a career path in graphic design, journalism, or marketing. Candidates must demonstrate a certain level of competency and experience in these fields through verifiable sources such as portfolios and references and are expected to follow department and tribal policy/law. Candidates will be expected to produce real work for the department that will be subject to critique, deadlines, and Mvskoke Media standards as well as the standards of customers and the broader industry. Purpose This scholarship will financially assist a Muscogee (Creek) Nation student that might not have the financial means to further his/her education. This scholarship award can be utilized to pay for the required cost of tuition, fees, books, tools, supplies, testing or examination fees, transportation, or other incidental required cost related to the cost of the higher education, technical, or vocational technical school. This scholarship is to be awarded to a Muscogee (Creek) Nation who successfully complete an academic apprenticeship with the Mvskoke Media. Funding $2,000

Eligibility

Must be currently attending an institution of higher education or enrolled as a first-time entering student. Must agree to authorize the Scholarship Foundation Program to publicize the scholarship award if selected. Must be pursuing a career path in graphic design, journalism, or marketing.
