Municipal Leadership Academy (MLA) 2026/27

Overview: A dynamic professional development program designed for mayors and city/town council members across Colorado. Through engaging workshops, peer learning, and expert-led sessions, participants build practical skills in governance, leadership, and collaboration.

Geographic Scope: Colorado, with sessions held in varying locations around the Metro Denver area and the State. A two-day session is held on the western slope in September.

  • Eligibility:

  • Mayors and city/town council members across Colorado

  • Open to newly elected and experienced leaders

  • Leaders from small or under-resourced municipalities (under 5,000 population) are prioritized for scholarships
  • Cost: $2,500

    Scholarships: Available to help cover participation costs for the Municipal Leadership Academy, particularly for leaders from small or under-resourced municipalities (under 5,000 population). Funds are awarded based on need and availability. Cost should not be a barrier to participation.
