Overview
Designed specifically for agencies with 10 or fewer peace officers (larger agencies considered on case-by-case basis). The program assists very small agencies with schedule coverage so their staff can attend law enforcement training. Can be used to backfill for certified officers and sworn detention officers. Applications must be submitted at least 30 days in advance of training. POST reimburses the providing agency up to $50/hr for each hour their staff works, including benefit costs. Additional funds available for travel time, lodging, and mileage.
