Program Description

The "Mobility Matters" Program is meant to alleviate some of the stress experienced by patients and their families caused by inadequate transportation and mobility methods.

Wheelchair Accessible Vans

#### Overview
Accessing wheelchair-accessible transportation can be difficult, and purchasing a van is a costly endeavor. Without these methods of transportation, many pALS face great difficulty with activities that many take for granted, such as:

Going to the grocery store

Accessing healthcare

Visiting with family and friends

#### Program Details

ALS Ride For Life provides temporary exclusive use of wheelchair accessible vans to pALS (Terms and conditions apply)

Availability varies based on current inventory and recent donations

GEOGRAPHIC LIMITATION: Due to logistical concerns, this program is ONLY AVAILABLE to pALS LOCATED ON LONG ISLAND, NY and neighboring areas

Recognition

ALS Finding A Cure We Care (ALSFAC) and Leandro P. Rizzuto Foundation announced that ALS Ride For Life is one of the Mobility for All Grant Recipients awarded in January. ALSFAC awarded grants to groups for their contributions to the ALS community in 2022.
