Mission Support Grants

Purpose: Support non-profit organizations with the arts as their primary purpose. Funding is unrestricted.

Geographic Scope: Five-county Kansas City metropolitan area (Clay, Jackson, Johnson, Platte, Wyandotte)

Program Model: Multi-year funding program that allows arts organizations to apply for two years of unrestricted funding with minimal reporting and paperwork. The two funding cycles continuously overlap, allowing ArtsKC to offer two-year grants to all applicants every year.

2025-2026 Results: Awarded 16 Mission Support Grants totaling $87,000 (average $5,438). Also awarded $98,500 to 18 organizations for their second year of the program. 24.6% of applicants received a grant of any amount.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Be a registered not-for-profit arts organization
• Be principally located in the five-county Kansas City metropolitan area
• Have a governing body with bylaws
• Have at least two years of financial records and established history of programming

Disciplines: Visual, dance, music, theater, poetry, and interdisciplinary art

Applications are submitted through ArtsKC's online grant management system (Foundant Technologies). Visit the application portal for specific deadlines and to apply.
