Creative Initiatives Impact Funding

Purpose: Support organizations or initiatives that support Jackson County (MO) neighborhood and community development with arts and culture projects, activities, or programs. Meant to promote accessibility to the arts, arts education, as well as partnerships and collaborations in the arts.

Geographic Scope: Jackson County, MO only

2023-2024 Results: Made 8 awards totaling $37,500 (average $4,167). 53.3% of applicants received an award of any amount.

Eligibility Categories (must identify as one):

• Registered nonprofit organization (with 501c3 status) in good standing with MO Secretary of State
• Individual or small group affiliated with a 501c3 organization or Missouri nonprofit
• Community-serving collective, collaborative, or initiative with a charitable purpose associated with a 501c3 organization or Missouri nonprofit

Types of Organizations Encouraged to Apply:

• Neighborhood associations
• Community centers
• Faith-based organizations
• Libraries
• Rotaries
• Chambers
• Education centers
• Charitable initiatives associated with these organizations (non publicly-funded organizations only)

Eligibility Requirements:

• Be located in Jackson County, MO
• Apply for a specific arts and culture and/or arts education program, project, or activity
• Have not been awarded an ArtsKC Mission Support or Project Support grant since 2021
• Organizations may receive one grant from ArtsKC per fiscal year (July 1 to June 30)

Not Eligible:

• Individuals (funding will not be awarded to individuals)

Priority: First-time applicants (funding intent is to reach new audiences)

Applications are submitted through ArtsKC's online grant management system (Foundant Technologies). Click "APPLY NOW" on the grants page to access the portal.
