Million Girls Moonshot Flight Crew

Overview:
The Million Girls Moonshot is a STEM Next initiative looking for afterschool STEM champions to join the Flight Crew — a group of youth advocates promoting the value of out-of-school STEM learning and equity in STEM. Selected Flight Crew members publicly share their stories to inspire other young people to pursue out-of-school STEM learning while developing advocacy, public speaking, and leadership skills.

Eligibility:

  • Age: 13-18 years old

  • Gender: Girls, non-binary or cis-gender youth

  • Experience: Must have been inspired by experiences in afterschool and summer STEM learning

  • Requirements: Must be ready to share their stories and participate in advocacy activities

    • Program Details:

  • Duration: Eight months of virtual programming

  • Activities: Youth will publicly share their stories, develop advocacy skills, practice public speaking, and hone leadership abilities

  • Mission: Part of STEM Next's broader Million Girls Moonshot initiative to re-imagine who can engineer, who can build, and who can make
