Summary
The Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University offers Mid-Dissertation Grants to support doctoral students conducting research aligned with its core interests. Designed for those who are post-prospectus and in the middle of their dissertation process, these grants provide $3,000–$4,000 for specific research needs, travel, or special projects. The Center emphasizes collaboration among scholars and supports diverse research topics related to international and comparative issues.Overview
Grants Nurturing research on international affairs is one of the Weatherhead Center's highest priorities. The Center has a longstanding commitment to support the analytical research of faculty, graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and undergraduates. In addition to the financial support of individual research projects, the Center encourages and facilitates meaningful collaboration among all of its affiliates through conferences, seminars, programs, and other opportunities to unite our broad community of faculty, students, scholars, and practitioners. The areas of research supported by the Center focus on international, transnational, global, and comparative national issues and may address contemporary or historical topics, including rigorous policy analysis, as well as the study of specific countries and regions outside the United States. Mid-Dissertation Grants Mid-dissertation grants are awarded to doctoral students who are post-prospectus, are conducting research relating to the core research interests of the Center, and who have not yet reached their final year of dissertation completion. The mid-dissertation grants are intended for specific research projects, research trips, or special needs that arise for students rather than for general dissertation-writing support. Awards Grants of $3,000–$4,000 each will be awarded.Eligibility
