Currier Scholarship Fund The Michael S. Currier Scholarship Fund was established at the Santa Fe Community Foundation in 2000 to honor the memory of rancher and philanthropist Michael S. Currier. This fund provides renewable scholarships to low-income students from northern New Mexico pursuing an undergraduate degree at an accredited institution.  Scholarships are paid to the educational institution in the student’s name to subsidize the costs of tuition, fees, books, and education-related expenses. Since its establishment, the Michael S. Currier Scholarship Fund has granted nearly $3 million dollars in scholarship funds.  Students should demonstrate exceptional talent, innovative thinking and/or creativity in a specific field of study. Scholarship Amount Scholarship award amounts are determined according to education costs, financial aid award, applicant contribution (work study, student loans, etc.) and applicant’s Estimated Family Contribution. Scholarship recipients may delay enrollment for up to one year, but scholarships remaining unclaimed after one year shall be returned to the fund. Scholarship recipients are eligible to receive award money for up to four consecutive years, but a new application must be submitted each year for students to be reconsidered. Award amounts may vary from year to year.

Eligibility

Currier Scholarship applicants must meet all of the following: Be current residents of Santa Fe, Rio Arriba, Taos, San Miguel, Los Alamos or Mora County.Be graduating high school seniors or recipients of a GED /diploma within the last 24 months who are entering their freshman year of college.Be enrolled full time at a 4-year educational institution for the 2025/26 school year or;Be enrolled at a 2-year educational institution for the 2025/26 school year, with the intention of transferring to a 4-year institution.Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, including the most recent semester.Low-income students from northern New Mexico pursuing an undergraduate degree at an accredited institution.Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and should demonstrate exceptional talent, innovative thinking and/or creativity in a specific field of study.
