Overview

The application period for Arts and Humanities Touring Grants opens on March 16, 2026 at 9 a.m. for events occurring between April 1–November 15, 2026. Applications will be reviewed in the order they are received and the program will remain open until all funds are expended. Touring Program Information The Arts and Humanities Touring Program awards grants to help support the fees and expenses of touring performers, artists, exhibitors, and humanities presenters. Touring Program grants are available to Michigan nonprofit organizations who may request: Up to 50 percent of a presenter’s fees and travel expenses. Applicants can apply for up to 4 different presenters in one application for a maximum grant award of $2,500. Arts and Humanities Touring Grants The Arts and Humanities Touring Program is a joint collaboration of Michigan Humanities and the Michigan Arts and Culture Council. Michigan nonprofits can apply for Touring Grants to host arts and humanities programming that feature artists and presenters from both the humanities and performing/visual arts fields.

Eligibility

You can learn more about this opportunity by visiting the funder's website. The applicant must be a nonprofit organization, school or municipality in the state of Michigan. The performer/presenter or exhibit must be selected from the Arts & Humanities Touring Directory.Requests for a grant may not exceed $2,500 per application, and an organization may request up to four different presenters during the program period (April 1 to November 2026). Presenters are limited to $6,000 in requests per program period.Events must have a ticket price of $10 or lower to be eligible for funding. Events that are organization fundraisers are ineligible for funding.

Ineligibility

Request for a grant may not exceed $3,000 per application, and an organization may not submit more than four (4) grant applications or request more than $4,000 during the program period (November to May cycles).
