MEA Instruction and Professional Development Grant

The Maine Education Association (MEA) offers the Instruction and Professional Development Grant to support educators in enhancing the quality of education, equalizing opportunities, and promoting professional development. This grant empowers members to provide leadership in their schools by funding activities like workshops and resources. Applications should align with MEA policies and their mission to ensure every Maine student receives an outstanding education. Grants are available for speakers, materials, and equipment, fostering better educational practices.

MEA advocates for better pay, benefits, and working conditions for members. And MEA works to ensure equity, prevent discrimination and prejudice, and advance great public schools for all educators and students across the state.
MEA offers awards and grants to members to both honor and support colleagues and your work.
The Instruction and Professional Development Grants are designed to help local association members provide professional and educational leadership in their schools and communities. Activities funded must be aligned with MEA policy and at least one of the following Association goals:
enhance the quality of education in public schools equalize educational opportunities for students in public education support professional development of members encourage participation in local association activities

Eligibility

Grant money may be used for speakers, materials, space rental, or equipment.

Ineligibility

It may not be used to pay association members for their work nor for routine association business.
