Mariners Care Equipment Donation Grants
Since 2017, Mariners Care Equipment Donation Grants have supported student-athletes across the Pacific Northwest in their baseball and softball journeys. We strive to increase equity, improve participation, and grow competitive play regardless of a student’s socioeconomic status. So far, we’ve provided a total of $400,000 to 80 high school baseball and softball programs to help with baseball and softball equipment needs in under-resourced communities.
In addition to the grants, we are also working to better understand the challenges that prevent young people from continuing in these beloved pastimes. We believe all young athletes should have the opportunity to play baseball and softball. The Mariners Care Equipment Donation Grant is one of many efforts to promote a positive playing experience.
Each year, a committee of Seattle Mariners staff selects a total of ten (10) high school baseball and softball teams to receive one five-thousand-dollar ($5,000) grant for the upcoming season.
