Making Space for Girls - Mission Challenge to the International Space Station

Overview: A national science competition for girls in STEAM+ education, hosted annually by Making Space for Girls (MS4G) in partnership between SpaceKids Global® and Girl Scouts Citrus Council.

Award: Selected submissions are flown to the International Space Station aboard SpaceX missions. Winners receive recognition and the opportunity to have their work included in spaceflight experiments.

Geographic Scope: National and international (46+ states, 2 territories, 2+ countries have participated)

Eligibility:

All girls welcome

Grades K-12

Can be Girl Scouts or non-Girl Scouts

Experiments flown aboard SpaceX to International Space Station (launched August 29, 2021)

Mission Goals:

Encourage girls to consider space industry careers

Teach fundamentals of science experiments

Compare and learn from control groups on Earth vs. experimental groups in space
