Overview

Background The Luling Foundation was created by charter as an institution of charity and free public learning. It is governed by a seven member Board of Trustees. Caldwell, Gonzales, and Guadalupe Counties are each represented by two trustees, while the seventh trustee is at large. The Commissioner’s Court of each respective county elects the Board of Trustees. The Foundation strives to educate visitors through tours, hands on learning, workshops, and field days. The goal continues to be the advancement of agriculture regionally and worldwide. Agriculture Scholarship Grant This scholarship is in the amount of $2,000 to be dispersed over the Fall and Spring semesters of the student’s freshman year. (The Luling Foundation will provide a total of $1,000 to each student recipient; a matching grant has been established through the Margaret Steiner Endowment.) It is not renewable. It will be rewarded to one student pursuing an agriculture related degree.

Eligibility

The applicant must: be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States be a resident of Caldwell, Gonzales, or Guadalupe County have at least an average academic record have a good conduct record be a graduating senior & if selected, must have a high school degree or equivalent in order to receive scholarship fundsattend a Texas college or university and participate in a curriculum leading to an agriculture or agriculture related degree. Student must enroll in a minimum of twelve semester hours. turn in all materials on time
