Overview:
The WRCA Foundation annually awards scholarships to young people from ranching families or those pursuing ranching as a career. In 2017, 42 scholars received $57,000 total. The Foundation supports education at all levels including high school, college, graduate school, vocational programs, and ranch management programs.

• Agricultural education
• Ranch management
• Vocational training (welding, horseshoeing, equine dentistry)
• Non-traditional educational paths (nursing school, social work, etc.)
• Any field of study for students with ranching backgrounds

Eligibility:

• Graduating high school seniors
• Home school graduates
• Current college students
• Non-traditional students returning to school
• Graduate school students
• Vocational/certificate program students
• Working ranch cowboys and their immediate families
• Students with strong ranching/agriculture background or goal of ranching career
• Need is a consideration in award selection

• Cargill Animal Nutrition Scholarship ($2,000/year for 4 years, or $1,000/semester)
• Charlie Daniels Journey Home Project Scholarship ($7,500, for children of military veterans)

Application Process

1. Request Application Materials:

2. Complete Application:
- Fill out the scholarship application form provided by WRCA

3. Submit Application:
- Deadline: March 1st annually (next deadline: March 1, 2027)
- Submit via email or mail to WRCA Headquarters

4. Application Materials Required:
- Completed application form
- Information about ranching background (if applicable)
- Educational goals and career plans
- Demonstration of need (if applicable)

5. Selection Process:
- WRCA Foundation Board of Directors reviews all applications
- Selection considers: ranching background, educational goals, financial need, and commitment to ranching community
