Louis Padovano Grants

Overview: The Lotos Foundation awards organizational grants to not-for-profit organizations based in the New York City metropolitan area who offer outstanding arts and science programs, free-of-charge, to middle-school and high school students from across the City's diverse populations and neighborhoods.

Purpose: This grant provides opportunities for gifted students in New York City to develop their creative talents in the arts and sciences.

Geographic Scope: New York City metropolitan area

Focus Areas: Organizations must nurture talented students in one of these fields:

Dance

Film

Music

Theater

Visual arts (painting, photography, sculpture, mixed-media, video)

Writing (fiction, non-fiction, poetry, playwriting, journalism, criticism)

Life and physical sciences

Eligibility Requirements

Organization Requirements:

Must be a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code

Must offer an arts or science program free of charge to talented students from across New York City's diverse populations and neighborhoods

Must not have received prior funding from The Lotos Foundation for the last three years in a row (a two-year hiatus is required if three consecutive years of funding has been received)

Program Requirements:

Must identify and nurture talented students in one of the specified fields listed above

Note: Louis Padovano Grants are NOT intended for programs which make use of the arts to provide therapeutic assistance
