Louis Padovano Grants

Overview: The Lotos Foundation awards organizational grants to not-for-profit organizations based in the New York City metropolitan area who offer outstanding arts and science programs, free-of-charge, to middle-school and high school students from across the City's diverse populations and neighborhoods.

Purpose: This grant provides opportunities for gifted students in New York City to develop their creative talents in the arts and sciences.

Geographic Scope: New York City metropolitan area

Focus Areas: Organizations must nurture talented students in one of these fields:

  • Dance

  • Film

  • Music

  • Theater

  • Visual arts (painting, photography, sculpture, mixed-media, video)

  • Writing (fiction, non-fiction, poetry, playwriting, journalism, criticism)

  • Life and physical sciences
  • Eligibility Requirements

    Organization Requirements:

  • Must be a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code

  • Must offer an arts or science program free of charge to talented students from across New York City's diverse populations and neighborhoods

  • Must not have received prior funding from The Lotos Foundation for the last three years in a row (a two-year hiatus is required if three consecutive years of funding has been received)
  • Program Requirements:

  • Must identify and nurture talented students in one of the specified fields listed above

  • Note: Louis Padovano Grants are NOT intended for programs which make use of the arts to provide therapeutic assistance
