Local Arts Grants
Award Range: $1,000 (Mini Grants) to $9,000+ (General Operating Support and Special Project Grants)
Purpose: Provides access to quality arts experiences in Morris County communities. Each year, the program supports more than 1,500 arts activities and programs that serve over 100,000 children and adults.
Geographic Scope: Morris County, New Jersey
Funding Source: Made possible by and contingent on funding from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts (NJSCA), a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts

- Morris County-based organizations
- Must provide arts events that are: - Artistically excellent - Provide public benefit - Accessible to the public
Eligibility
- Independent panel of experienced arts panelists reviews applications
- Panelists experienced with various artistic modalities and knowledgeable about nonprofit arts organizations
- Evaluation panel scores applications
- Funding panel determines award recommendations
- Morris Arts Board of Trustees makes final decisions
- Applicants must outline: - How funding will be used - How work impacts community needs - ADA compliance
Application Process
- Funding Period: January 1 – December 31
- 1st Payment (75% of award): February
- Final Reports Due: January 7 following funding year
- 2nd and Final Payment (25% of award): February (subject to NJSCA funding receipt)
