Overview

For over 100 years, The Foundation for Enhancing Communities (TFEC) has been supporting the philanthropic interests of donors who want to effect change in their communities. Scholarships It is through the generosity of local individuals, families, and businesses that we are able to offer more than 190 scholarship opportunities. TFEC is the largest provider of scholarships in South Central, Pennsylvania, awarding over $1.7 million in scholarships to more than 400 local students alone through various scholarship funds administered by TFEC and through management agreements with the Samuel L. Abrams Foundation, the Leon Lowengard and Ray S. Shoemaker scholarships of BNY Mellon, N.A. and York Rotary Club. Lippert-Sizemore Scholarship Fund The PFLAG – Greater Harrisburg Chapter developed the Lippert-Sizemore Scholarship Fund in 2023. The scholarship recognizes outstanding persons from Central PA for their involvement in the LGBTQ+ community and encourages post-secondary education of LGBTQ+ persons and their allies while promoting a positive image of LGBTQ+ persons in society. Renewability Recipients of this scholarship may apply again for up to three consecutive years.
