Lehner Women Empowering Women Scholarship

Purpose: Empower women of Dearborn County to improve their lives through education; assist non-traditional female students who have not had the opportunity to attend college or complete post-secondary education started previously in life.

Geographic Scope: Dearborn County, Indiana

Eligibility:

  • Non-traditional female students

  • Those who have not had previous opportunity to attend college

  • Those who are completing post-secondary education started previously in life
  • Award Details:

  • One educational scholarship per cycle

  • Amount: Up to $500

  • Applied to tuition, books, and required fees
  • History: Scholarship renamed in June 2018 to honor Lisa DeHart Lehner, one of DCF's founders and original attorney.

    Expectations for Recipients:

  • Send thank you note to DCF directed to appropriate scholarship committee

  • Provide copy of tuition bill and class schedule at least two weeks prior to tuition due date
