About the Scholarships Program Coral Gables Community Foundation is honored to partner with our fundholders to administer generous scholarships as well as manage the Foundation’s own scholarship funds. The Foundation and its fundholders have proudly awarded over $2.9 million in scholarships in just the last decade. Most scholarships offered through the Foundation’s scholarship program are based on academic achievement and financial need. Scholarship awards are designated as one-year awards or renewable multi-year awards depending upon the scholarship fund criteria. Lady Suzanna P. Tweed Scholarship The fund was created by Lady Tweed before her passing in 1994. It reflected her love for children and her desire to help deserving students continue their education. Lady Tweed desired to have a scholarship program benefiting students’ commitment to education, volunteerism and leadership. Checks are sent directly from the Coral Gables Community Foundation to the bursar’s office of the recipient’s college or university.

Scholarship Requirements:Demonstrate all around excellence in academics, volunteerism, athletics and/or extra-curricular activities.Attended Coral Gables Senior High at least two years, including the senior year.Enroll as a full time undergraduate student in a post secondary community college, vocational technical school or state or private four year college or university.Pursue any recognized course of study.Personal Statement of Financial Need.
