Note: Applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis until all the funds are awarded or by Friday, September 5, 2025, 4:00 p.m. HST. Hawai‘i Community Foundation invests charitable funds in communities across the State primarily through nonprofit organizations. Our core programs are designed to support a stronger nonprofit sector as we believe that these organizations are one cornerstone of a vibrant civic society. We administer a number of grantmaking programs with targeted purposes or an island-based focus. Hawai‘i Community Foundation also assists several private foundations in delivering their grantmaking programs according to their specific strategies. Kumulipo Showcase Travel Grants In alignment with the vision to increase access to arts and culture in Hawaiʻi including indigenous knowledge and practices, this Funding Opportunity will award travel grants to organizations to increase access to the Kumulipo Showcase. This Funding Opportunity is targeted to reach individuals that experience barriers or challenges to accessing this event in person, including those living in rural communities.

Eligibility & RequirementsHawai‘i nonprofit organizations that are 501(c)(3) IRS tax exempt organizations.Grant funding can support travel expenses for program participants and staff/volunteers.Grant funding can be used for travel expenses including airfare, ground transportation, lodging, food, and other travel costs related to attending the Kumulipo Showcase.Applicants proposing to travel with youth must have a comprehensive Child Protection Policy including staff and volunteer background checks and procedures so that one staff or volunteer will not be alone with a child at any time. If your plans involve an overnight stay, appropriate policies for chaperones and sleeping arrangements must be in place. Written permission from the youths’ guardians must be received prior to travel. A copy of these policies is not required to be submitted with the application but must be provided if requested by HCF.

Ineligibility

Organizations currently funded by HCF with overdue final reports are not eligible to apply.
