Kiwanis Turn Around Scholarship (TAS) Program

Program Purpose:
Provides personal recognition and scholarships to graduating at-risk high school seniors for continuing education, which may be college, vocational, or trade school.

Geographic Scope: Lincoln High School, Twelve Bridges High School, and Phoenix and Atlas High Schools

Eligibility:

Graduating at-risk high school seniors

Students who may be the first high school graduates in their family

Students confronting serious personal problems such as:

- Substance abuse or addiction
- Abusive parents or guardians
- Poverty
- Homelessness
- Physical handicap or illness

Award Details:

Kiwanis of Lincoln annually awards scholarships to deserving students

Mentorship offered to winners

Winners are encouraged to reapply for future TAS funding for continuing education

Funding:

Fundraising relies on sponsorships and donations

Community effort generates needed funds
