Kevin Murnane Student Scholarship

Award Amount: Up to $2,500 per scholarship (awarded to up to two recipients annually)
Program Purpose: Honors the legacy of Kevin Murnane, the manager of Tahoe XC from 1999-2015. Awarded to graduating seniors who demonstrate selflessness, decency, and good nature within the community.
- Must be a North Tahoe High School (NTHS) graduating senior
- Must have participated in at least one Nordic ski program at: - Tahoe XC - Auburn Ski Club - Far West - North Tahoe Middle and High School Teams
- Character-based criteria: selflessness, decency, good nature

- Character development and community contribution
- Support for higher education goals
- Demonstrated commitment to cross-country skiing
- Community service and positive impact

- Fund established in 2015 following Kevin Murnane's death
- Kevin Murnane was the beloved director of Tahoe XC who passed away by suicide in February 2015
- As of 2025, 19 students have been awarded scholarships
- Goal to become an endowed fund to ensure perpetual support
