Keegel Yates Teamsters Joint Council 32 Education Fund Scholarship Awards for Graduating High School Seniors

Funder: International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Joint Council 32 (Minnesota)

Purpose: To support education and recognize the dedication of deceased IBT General Secretary-Treasurer and Joint Council 32 President C. Thomas Keegel and deceased Joint Council 32 President Harold J. Yates.

Number of Awards: 8 scholarships annually

Award Amount: $2,000 per scholarship

Selection Method: Winners are drawn by lot

Eligibility

• Graduating high school seniors
• Maintained a "B" average or better throughout high school
• Children of active or retired Teamsters union members

Fund Background

Contributions to the Keegel Yates Teamsters Joint Council 32 Education Fund come from Local Unions, Members, and special endowments. The fund is named to honor two deceased leaders whose dedication to children and education helped sustain the scholarship program. Teamsters Joint Council 32 believes that the Labor Movement in America lies in the hands of our children and that education is the key to their future.
