Karen S. Wray Nursing with Compassion and Dignity Scholarship Grant

The Karen S. Wray Nursing with Compassion and Dignity Scholarship, offered by the Community Foundation of Howard County, provides $1,000 to a deserving senior student from a Howard County Public School pursuing nursing. Applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate a commitment to the values of compassion and dignity in healthcare. This scholarship aims to support students who aspire to make a positive impact in the nursing field through education and lifelong learning.

Community Foundation of Howard County
The Community Foundation of Howard County (CFHC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity with the goal of improving the quality of life in Howard County, primarily through endowment building and coordinated grant-making services.

Karen S. Wray Nursing with Compassion and Dignity Scholarship
This $1,000 scholarship is available to a student currently in their senior year at a Howard County Public School, who plans to attend a two- or four-year college or university to pursue an education in nursing.
The recipient of this scholarship should demonstrate a commitment to study nursing and belief in the value of lifelong learning; devote oneself to supporting the dignity and welfare of those in one’s care; and practice the highest levels of acceptance, compassion, kindness, and respect for all people.

Eligibility

Attend a Howard County Public School in Howard County, Maryland;
Plan to attend a two-or four-year college/university; and
Have an unweighted 3.0 or higher cumulative grade point average through Grade 11. In addition, an unweighted grade point average of 3.0 or higher must be maintained through the first semester of Grade 12.
