The priority deadline is May 1.See Full Proposal DeadlineThe priority deadline listed for each scholarship is the date we will begin reviewing applications and awarding scholarship funds. In many cases, there may be funding available after all applications submitted by the priority deadline have been reviewed. In this case, we will continue to accept applications beyond the priority deadline and award new applicants until the funding is depleted. Kansas Osteopathic Medical Service Scholarship Designed to encourage primary care physicians to establish practices in rural areas of Kansas. Recipients receive $41,000 per year for up to four years of study at nationally accredited osteopathic schools. Recipients return one year of practice for each year of assistance. Applicants must complete a program application and the designated financial aid application.

Students may attend any accredited osteopathic school in the United States.Must be committed to providing primary medical care in an underserved area in Kansas.Primary Care Medicine includes general internal medicine, pediatrics, family medicine, family practice, obstetrics and gynecology, geriatric medicine or emergency medicineUnderserved areas are designated as any Kansas county except:Douglas, Johnson, Sedgwick, Shawnee and WyandottePractice must begin within six months after licensure or within six months after completion of an approved postgraduate residency training program and licensure, whichever is later.Must demonstrate financial aid eligibility as measured by the federal formula.
