The priority deadline is May 1.See Full Proposal DeadlineNEW Applicants must submit your DD-214 form or active duty orders.The priority deadline listed for each scholarship is the date we will begin reviewing applications and awarding scholarship funds. In many cases, there may be funding available after all applications submitted by the priority deadline have been reviewed. In this case, we will continue to accept applications beyond the priority deadline and award new applicants until the funding is depleted. Kansas Military Service Scholarship The Kansas Military Service Scholarship is available for the payment of tuition and fees at a public Kansas institution for students who are a resident of Kansas and has: served in military service in international waters or on foreign soil in support of military operations for which the person received hostile fire pay for at least 90 days after September 11, 2001, or served less than such 90 days because of injuries during such military service;has received an honorable discharge or under honorable conditions (general) discharge from military service or is still in military service; andhas provided copies of military discharge papers (DD-214 form) or active duty orders whichever such paper or order indicate the location of such person’s deployment and indicate the person has served after September 11, 2001, in any military operation for which the person received hostile fire pay.

Generally, each scholarship program requires the recipient to:Be a Kansas residentEnroll in a qualified programEnroll at a Kansas college or universityNot already awarded an undergraduate degree, unless you are applying for the Nursing or Teaching Service ScholarshipsRequirements for Recipients of this scholarship:remain in good academic standing at the Kansas educational institution where they are enrolled;make satisfactory progress toward completion of the requirements of the educational program in which they are enrolled (scholarship cannot be awarded beyond the first bachelor’s degree); andenroll in a minimum of 6 hours each semester, can be part-time or full-time.Eligible students may be awarded a scholarship for not more than four academic years of undergraduate study (five years if enrolled in a designated five-year program).

Ineligibility

Once your school considers you as a graduate status student, you are not eligible for this scholarship.
