The priority deadline is May 1.See Full Proposal DeadlineThe priority deadline listed for each scholarship is the date we will begin reviewing applications and awarding scholarship funds. In many cases, there may be funding available after all applications submitted by the priority deadline have been reviewed. In this case, we will continue to accept applications beyond the priority deadline and award new applicants until the funding is depleted. Kansas Nursing Service Scholarship The Kansas Nursing Service Scholarship is designed to encourage enrollment in LPN or RN nursing programs. Recipients sign a promissory note with the State of Kansas agreeing to practice nursing one year for each year of scholarship support. Award Amounts Recipients enrolled 12 credit hours or more in a Licensed Practical Nurse program are eligible for $4000 each school year and a Registered Nurse program are eligible for $5000 each school year.Recipients enrolled 12 credit hours or more in Recipients enrolled 12 credit hours or more with a sponsor will receive $5000 per school year for LPN, $6250 for RN.Eligibility

Generally, each scholarship program requires the recipient to:Be a Kansas residentEnroll in a qualified programEnroll at a Kansas college or universityNot already awarded an undergraduate degree, unless you are applying for the Nursing or Teaching Service ScholarshipsKansas Nursing Service Scholarship new or renewal: Must be accepted to a Kansas nursing programStudent must be enrolled in 12 credit hours or moreRecipient obligation:The service obligation requires the recipient to complete their nursing program and licensure then work full-time as an RN or LPN one year for each year that scholarship assistance was received in the state of Kansas. If the student has a sponsor, they must work for that facility. If a recipient is unable to fulfill the service obligation to the state, they will be subject to repaying the scholarship amount and interest will be added to the total at a rate of 5%.Ineligibility
