Overview

NOTE: September 3, 2025: Invitation is open to submit a Short-Form Proposal through FOUNDANT grantmaking system. Fall - Impact Grants Cycle JWF-NJ wants to get to know your organization and see how you are empowering and/or supporting women and girls in your New Jersey-based community. With the short application available through FOUNDANT, please show us how a small grant of up to $5,000 can offer a big return. Project funds must be used by June 30th, the end of JWF-NJ's fiscal year.

Eligibility

You can learn more about this opportunity by visiting the funder's website. An organization that meets two or more of the following criteria is eligible to apply: Demonstrates that the grant can make a big impact in jumpstarting a project.  Demonstrates that the grant is timely and addresses an issue with immediate urgency.  Demonstrates that the grant can be used to cover the costs (or the majority thereof) for a self-contained expense (e.g., purchase of specific equipment).  Has not received a grant of $3,000 or more from JWF-NJ in the past five years.Is an organization with a budget of less than $250K annually. Applicants must be 501(c)3 organizations or those with a fiscal agent with their own 501(c)3. Legal opinion letters of nonprofit status are not sufficient.An organization must use funds to support projects for any of the following communities: self-identifying women or girls, gender non-conforming individuals in a female space, women with their children. Projects should be tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals in these communities and should not merely include them, even if they make up the majority of those involved.JWF-NJ focuses its support in Northern-Central New Jersey, including: Essex, Union, and Morris counties. Requests originating from the counties of Bergen, Hudson, Somerset, Warren, Sussex, Passaic, and other nearby geographic areas in-state may also be considered.JWF-NJ funds both sectarian and non-sectarian organizations. An organization need not be Jewish to receive a grant. An organization's overall support and inclusion of women and girls in leadership, on boards, and in key staff positions is considered.

Ineligibility

Grants cannot be awarded to individuals, political campaigns or organizations such as PACs, capital campaigns, or endowments.JWF-NJ does not provide funds for individual tuition scholarships (e.g., private school or university), however JWF-NJ may fund a project which absorbs costs/offers discounts for its neediest participants.
