About Us

The Community Foundation of Dickinson County, Inc. was established in 1999 by a group of civic-minded individuals who cherished their community and wanted to ensure future generations experience the same quality of living they had received in Dickinson County. These visionaries secured the future of the Foundation by establishing an Endowed Founder’s Fund.

Johnson Community Organization Scholarship - $700

Scholarship Overview: Years ago, dating back before the 1940’s, the farming families of Willowdale Township decided to gather together for dinner once a month, and even celebrated with holiday dinners for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other holidays.

Eligibility

* Scholarship Requirements:
* Applicant must be a graduating senior or graduate of Abilene High School, Chapman High School, Hope High School, or Solomon High School.
* The applicant should be involved in activities such as FFA and 4-H. German Club, etc. 
* Applicant must have earned at least a cumulative 3.5 GPA if applying to a 4-year college and a 2.5 GPA if applying to a Technical School or Junior College.
* Statement/essay of at least 200 words describing your future goals and why you would like to advance your education. 
* The following should be uploaded to complete the application:
* Two letters of recommendation: One from a teacher and one from a non-relative community member.
* Current resume
* Copy of most recent academic transcript.
