Eligible applicants must demonstrate excellence in three key areas: academic achievement, physical vigor and activity, and leadership in school, church, or community involvement. Recipients who maintain strong academic standing and pursue a four-year college degree may receive up to four annual scholarship distributions. Established in 2001 by John and Ruth Blue to give back to the community they cherished, the fund continues their legacy of supporting well-rounded, high-achieving students in Watauga County.
