John H. Wright Scholarship The John H. Wright Scholarship Fund was established in 2018 to honor the memory of John H. Wright and Mr. Wright’s passion for farming and his land, his desire to help those who have encountered difficulties in life, and his belief that the future of our country rests in the hands of today's young people. The intent of this scholarship is to support students of varying academic levels who show promise of success in their chosen course of study.

Eligibility

You can learn more about this opportunity by visiting the funder's website. Preference shall be given to students residing in the Virginia counties of Goochland, Louisa, Hanover, Powhatan, Cumberland, or Fluvanna.Eligible student must be a candidate for high school graduation (from public, private, or homeschool) at the end of the current academic year; be a recent high school graduate (under the age of 21); or an adult learner (21 years old or older). Students who have earned a GED are also eligible. Eligible student must plan to enroll in an accredited 2-year or 4-year community college, college or university, or vocational school in the United States the following academic year. Eligible student must be planning a course of study relating in some manner to agriculture, farming, or stewardship of the land.College students who are presently receiving this scholarship, and continue the commitment to a course of study or career path relating to agriculture, farming, or stewardship of the land, may submit a renewal application.
