Jerry Beagley Top Rough Stock and Timed Event Scholarship

Overview: A $500-$1,000 scholarship awarded to cowboys who place in both rough stock and timed events during the CNFR, honoring Jerry Beagley's dual-event competition background.

Award Criteria: Given to the cowboy who:

  • Competed in both rough stock events (bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding)

  • AND timed events (calf roping, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, breakaway roping, goat tying, team roping)
  • Background: Jerry Beagley competed in both rough stock and timed events when he attended college in the 1970s. He wanted to create a scholarship to recognize and support athletes with this dual capability.

    Geographic Scope: United States - all NIRA members eligible

    Eligibility:

  • College rodeo athletes who are NIRA members

  • Must compete in at least one rough stock event and one timed event at CNFR

  • Must place in both categories
