Jeff Sessions Student Scholarship

Status: Active and accepting applications

Geographic Scope: New Hampshire and Vermont high school seniors; now expanded to all students of all ages

Focus Areas:

  • Originally: STEM fields (Computer Science, Engineering, Game Design, etc.)

  • 2026 Expansion: Now open to all courses of study, including two-year associates degrees, nursing programs, trade schools, and certification programs
  • Eligibility:

  • High school seniors (NH and VT) or adult learners

  • Must demonstrate good citizenship and character

  • Must submit essay on provided topic (no AI/ChatGPT allowed)

  • Students of all ages welcome

  • Enrolled or accepted to college/trade school/certification program
  • Selection Criteria:

  • Creativity and overall quality of essay

  • Extent of financial need

  • Involvement with extracurricular activities and volunteer work

  • Grades reflecting conscientiousness

    How to Apply

    Application Process

    1. Complete Online Application Form with the following fields:
    - First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone
    - Full Address
    - High School Attending or Home Schooled
    - GPA / Class Ranking
    - College/Trade School/Certification Program you plan to attend
    - Enrollment/acceptance status (with documentation)
    - Intended major/field of study
    - Financial need rating (1-5 scale)
    - Explanation of financial need rating
    - List of extracurricular and community service activities

    2. Required Documents:
    - One or more teacher recommendations (upload file)
    - For adult learners: professional and/or personal references
    - For adult learners: resume, previous schooling, or certifications (optional but recommended)
    - Proof of enrollment/acceptance to educational program

    3. Essay Requirement:
    - Maximum 2 pages
    - NO ChatGPT or AI tools permitted — must be in own words
    - Choose ONE of five essay topics:
    1. Why did you choose your particular course of study and how do you plan on using your degree/certification?
    2. Describe a volunteer event or program that you have been involved in and how it has impacted you and those you helped.
    3. Who has been a favorite role model to you and why?
    4. Tell us what you enjoyed about high school and what you didn't enjoy. Name some successes and challenges you incurred.
    5. What do you think are key aspects of leadership and why?
