JAMIS Publication Grant

The JAMIS Publication Grant, offered by the American Musical Instrument Society, provides up to $1000 annually to assist with costs related to publishing articles in the Journal of the American Musical Instrument Society. This grant supports travel, materials, and editorial expenses, aiming to promote research on musical instruments across cultures and history. The Journal of the American Musical Instrument Society is published annually by the American Musical Instrument Society, Inc. The Journal welcomes articles representing original research on the construction, history, sociology, and conservation of instruments, and on questions of performance practice relating to particular instruments.

Eligibility

No one may hold the grant more than twice. The Journal of the American Musical Instrument Society shall have the right of first refusal for the resulting article, which must be submitted to the Journal within two years of receipt of the grant.The Editorial Board of the Journal reserves the right to make no award in a given year, should there be no proposal of appropriate quality.
