American Society of Civil Engineers The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) represents more than 160,000 members of the civil engineering profession in 177 countries. Through the expertise of its active membership, ASCE is a leading provider of technical and professional conferences and continuing education, the world’s largest publisher of civil engineering content, and an authoritative source for codes and standards that protect the public. The Society advances civil engineering technical specialties through nine dynamic institutes and leads with its many professional- and public-focused programs. James W. Griffin Scholarship James Wilson Griffin, was an active member of the Texas Civil Engineering community since graduating University of Texas at Austin in 1957. Jim passed away on October 21st, 2023. Following his passing, his family and friends worked with a local philanthropic organization called the Dallas Foundation to donate his legacy to good causes including this Scholarship, memorializing him and supporting the thing he loved the most, the civil engineering community and growing the future of that community. The scholarships are awarded on an equal opportunity basis to current college students who are in good standing with an ABET accredited Civil Engineering program and who will be attending an ABET accredited Civil Engineering program in the 2025 Fall Semester in pursuit of a degree in Civil Engineering.Eligibility
