Funder: International Waldenstrom's Macroglobulinemia Foundation (IWMF) in partnership with The National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD)

Program Type: Financial assistance program (patient support rather than research grant)

Eligibility:

Individuals diagnosed with WM

Individuals being evaluated for WM

Community members inside AND outside of the U.S.

Coverage Areas:

Travel and lodging for second opinion or diagnosis confirmation appointments with WM specialists

Travel related to clinical trial eligibility screening or first clinical trial visit (when not paid by trial sponsor)

Annual grants for travel to regularly scheduled WM-related appointments (expanded in 2024)

Award Amount: Varies, up to program's established financial limit

Funding is limited

Program was expanded at the beginning of 2024 to include annual grants for regularly scheduled WM appointments

Particularly valuable for WM patients given the rarity of the disease and importance of specialist consultation
