International Peace Scholarship (IPS) Fund
Overview: A scholarship program providing financial support for international women students to pursue graduate study in the U.S. or Canada. Scholarships are need-based but not intended to cover all academic or personal expenses.
Geographic Scope: International women applying from outside the United States and Canada to study in U.S. or Canadian institutions
Focus Areas: Any graduate/advanced degree program
- Citizenship: Must be a woman outside the United States and Canada
- Education Goal: Must be seeking an advanced degree from an accredited college or university in the U.S. or Canada
- Commitment to Home Country: Must plan to return to home country to utilize education to make a positive impact and foster global peace
- Program Requirements: Must have: - A full year of formal coursework remaining, OR - Be attending Cottey College
- Enrollment Status: Must be enrolled and in residence in the U.S. or Canada for the entire school year
- Additional Financial Resources: At time of application, must indicate additional financial resources adequate to meet estimated expenses (e.g., personal/family funds, tuition waivers, work, scholarships, teaching assistantships, study grants, other scholarships)
Eligibility Requirements
- Doctoral students who have completed coursework and are working only on dissertations are not eligible as first-time applicants
- Citizens or permanent residents of the United States or Canada are not eligible
- Scholarships not given for online courses, research, internships, or practical training if not combined with formal coursework
- Note: Residency for tax purposes only is permitted
