International Baccalaureate (IB) Program Scholarship

A scholarship fund established to ensure that IB program assessments are accessible to all interested students regardless of financial circumstances.

Geographic Scope: State College Area High School (SCASD, PA)

Focus Areas:

• IB Diploma Programme support
• IB assessment fee subsidies
• Access to IB courses for financially disadvantaged students

Eligibility:

• State High students enrolled in IB program or IB courses
• Students demonstrating financial need

Funding Details:

• Assessment fees total approximately $700 for students in the full IB Diploma program
• Scholarship helps cover these costs for students unable to pay full amount
• Approximately 17 students are enrolled in the full diploma program annually, with around 100 taking IB courses

Program Background:
State High is an authorized IB World School (one of only 23 in Pennsylvania and the only one in the local area). The school was authorized in 2019 and offers the IB Diploma Programme for 11th and 12th graders. Initial funding for program launch came through donors' contributions to Pennsylvania's Educational Improvement Tax Credit program. The IB program emphasizes:
